The tare function of the Tanita KD403 Digital Lithium Scale allows you to add and weigh individual item(s) without removing contents of the bowl. When the display shows 0, put the bowl onto the scale and press the ON/TARE button before adding and weighing each individual item. After removing the bowl at the end, the display will show a negative reading.
